New Jersey Youth Soccer unveils Commissioners Cup

EAST WINDSOR, N.J. ― New Jersey Youth Soccer has announced the launch of its new developmental state-level tournament, the Commissioners Cup.

The Commissioners Cup presents an opportunity for Under-11 and U-12 (9 v 9) as well as U-13 and U-14 (11 v 11) travel teams to reach their goal of not only improving skill levels, but of ultimately becoming a state champion.

“The Commissioners Cup gives us a chance to connect with thousands of quality soccer players competing in the NJ Youth Soccer leagues through the state and help them grow,” NJYS games commissioner Buddy Hart said. “We are excited for this opportunity to engage with new teams and deliver a quality tournament experience for players, coaches and parents alike.”

Designed to create a challenging and enjoyable event for third tier teams, the Commissioners Cup provides a state competition without regional and national levels.

The tournament, which features a single elimination home and away format, starts and culminates in New Jersey. The registration fee is $135 for U-11 and U-12 (9 v 9) teams and $160 for U-13 and U-14 (11 v 11). Teams are responsible for referee fees in the preliminary and quarterfinal rounds only.
